Spinner Wheel Operation
2.1 Making your wheel
Adding inputs: The first step in using your wheel is to add inputs. These could be words, numbers, names, or anything else. Just go to the "Edit wheel" area and type your text to add an input. To add the input to your wheel, press the button. As an alternative, press the "Enter" key.
By changing the "Size" field, you can also alter the size of your input. Remember that the size is always in relation to the other inputs you supply.
Let’s take the example of adding three inputs to your wheel. One input is "2" in size, while two inputs are "1" in size. In this instance, the input with size "2" would occupy half of the wheel, while the two inputs with size "1" would each occupy a quarter of the wheel. The likelihood that it will be chosen when you spin the wheel increases with the size you specify.
2.2 Turning the wheel
Now that your picker wheel is set up, it’s time to use it and get spinning! To start the spin, just press the wheel itself or the "Spin" button in the middle of the wheel. A random input is chosen from the options you have added as the wheel rotates.
A modal shows the chosen input, like a name or number, after the rotation is finished. The "Remove" button allows you to remove the chosen option from the wheel, while the "Spin Again" button allows you to spin the wheel once again. Keep in mind that clicking "Spin Again" does not delete any inputs from the wheel. You can click anywhere outside of the modal to close it if you would rather see the wheel instead.
2.3 How to make changes to your Spinner Wheel inputs
Just return to the "Edit wheel" section if you ever need to change your wheel inputs. It enables you to modify the wording and size of your portions. Additionally, you can choose or deselect the checkmark next to an input to show or hide it, or you can press the "X" button to remove it completely.
2.4 Displaying and concealing every wheel input simultaneously
The "Show All/Hide All" function allows you to control which of your inputs are visible. A checkmark button that changes the visibility of all wheel inputs can be found in the wheel editor’s upper right corner.
Pressing this button will conceal every input on your wheel while they are all displayed. The button displays all inputs once more if they have already been concealed.
Recall that this feature just modifies your inputs’ visibility on the wheel; it does not remove them.
2.5 Making use of fullscreen
GigaSpinner has a fullscreen mode. When giving a presentation in front of an audience, this is especially helpful. Pressing the "Fullscreen" button in the header will enable it. This mode, which is perfect for presentations, raffles, or interactive activities, reduces distractions by only displaying the spinner wheel and is customized to fill your full screen.
Please be aware that the availability of the fullscreen mode is dependent on the capabilities of your device or browser. For example, this feature is not yet supported by Safari on iOS iPhones. Please visit caniuse.com for comprehensive compatibility information.
2.6 Additional characteristics
Press the "Shuffle inputs" button to shuffle all wheel inputs at random. This button is located next to the Show all/Hide all button in the wheel editor’s upper-right corner.
3. Making your wheel unique
You are free to alter your picker wheel to suit your tastes. To access the wheel settings, just press the "Settings" button (designated by a cog icon). The following options are then customizable:
The color scheme for your picker wheel, The duration of the spin period in seconds, Sound settings, Tick sound volume, Select sound volume.
4. Transferring an input list to GigaSpinner
Use our "Copy & paste inputs" tool to copy and paste several inputs simultaneously to your spinner wheel. Excel, Google Sheets, CSV files, and other text-based formats are just a few of the sources it can work with. This functionality is very helpful in settings like classes and giveaways. Teachers can use this, for instance, to rapidly add a list of student names from their student names file to their spinner wheel.
Additionally, we created a video lesson that explains how to utilize the "Copy & paste inputs" feature. It is available for viewing here.
4.1 Launch the window titled "Copy & paste inputs"
Click the "Copy & paste inputs" button in the upper right corner of the "Edit wheel" area to open the "Copy & paste inputs" window.
4.2 Duplicating your inputs
Open the file containing your inputs, such as a Google Sheets file, once the window has opened. Choose every input you have from the file. Choose only the column with the inputs if there are other columns.
Additionally, you have the option to choose a second column that contains the input sizes. You can copy the rows you’ve chosen to your clipboard.
4.3 Adding your inputs to your wheel by pasting them
Paste the copied inputs into the text box in the "Copy & paste inputs" window. The preview section will automatically display the inputs so you can see how they will show up on your spinner wheel.
Click "Add inputs" when you’re prepared. That’s all! You can now begin spinning when your inputs have been loaded to the wheel.
